Do feral hogs like slops? Or a Muddy Pond?
Santos,
Feral hogs are big fans of water, mud, slop, whatever you want to call, during the warmer months of the year. If it’s hot and dry the best place to look for hogs will be around shaded stock tanks/ponds and creeks. Hogs can’t sweat, so getting in the water cools them off. They also cover themselves in mud, which then dries, so they can rub on trees and post to knock of parasites. Not sure if they realize what they are doing, but it’s one of their habits.
Hogs will root and dig up old rotted logs along a creek bed by me. How often will hogs re visit a rooting site if it is fresh?
